Michael was admitted to the Law Society
of Upper Canada in 2002. Michael graduated from the University
of Western Ontario in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours),
from Carleton University in 1998 with a Master of Arts,
and from the University of Western Ontario in 2001 with
a Bachelor of Laws.
Michael spent the first seven years of
his legal career representing insurers at two prominent
insurance defence firms in Toronto. During that time his
practice was focused on first-party accident benefit claims,
inter-company priority and loss transfer disputes, and general
tort claims. As a result, he has a keen understanding personal
injury litigation, having represented both sides in such
disputes.
Michael is a member of the Advocates
Society, Ontario Bar Association, and Canadian Bar Association.
When not working,
Michael enjoys travelling with his wife, snowboarding, golf,
and tracking the stock market.
